NBA Hits Wade With Fine for Obscene Gesture

Dwyane Wade was caught with his middle finger extended and it cost him $15,000

Dwyane Wade was fined by the NBA to the tune of $15,000 on Thursday for an obscene gesture he made a day earlier.

In Charlotte, Wade was caught extending his middle finger in the direction of the fans. The moment was not aired on television but was caught on camera. A security official from the NBA was also in attendance and witnessed the gesture.

When Wade made the gesture at the end of the third quarter, the Miami Heat were trailing by ten and looked destined for a second straight loss. Miami would go on to tighten the score up in the fourth quarter but still fell to Charlotte.

Wade himself had a rough night on Wednesday from the field. The guard was only 8-21 on his attempts. The positive news for Wade and the Heat was he did not show any lingering issues with his hamstring

The fine represents .01% of Wade's salary for 2014-15 as the 33-year old is earning $15 million this year. This marks the third time this year that Wade has had to hand over money to the league. In December, Wade picked up two technical fouls that cost him $4,000 in all as per NBA rules.

Wade also was not chosen as a starter in the All-Star Game which ended a 9-year steak. The NBA announced the starters on a national telecast on Thursday.
