Brandon Marshall will not be suspended by the NFL for an alleged stabbing incident involving Marshall and his wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, in April.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed to the Palm Beach Post that the NFL will not discipline Marshall since no charges were filed against him.

Commissioner Roger Goodell had been keeping an eye on the Marshall situation this fall, but because he was not charged with anything, Marshall never actually violated the NFL's strict code of conduct, according to the Post.

Marshall has already been suspended for violating the NFL's conduct policy once before (in 2009), meaning he would have received more than a one-game suspension if the NFL had decided to discipline him this season.

But now he is assured that he will not miss any games from the April incident, effectively ending the summer-long saga.

Marshall did little to cooperate with Broward county investigators following the stabbing, initially telling police that he slipped and fell on a broken vase during an argument with his wife.

In June, Marshall reiterated that when he spoke to the state attorney's office about the incident, "the one thing I made clear was my wife did not stab me."

The Broward State Attorney's Office eventually declined to press charges against Marshall or his wife, citing "conflicting evidence."
