The Panthers were shut out by the Ottawa Senators on Monday in a 1-0 loss

The Florida Panthers lost again on Monday as the Ottawa Senators came away with a 1-0 victory in Sunrise.

Florida has yet to win a game this season and also did not pick up a victory during the preseason schedule. Overall, the Panthers are 0-2-1 in the regular season after going 0-4-2 during exhibition contests.

The Panthers looked better in this game than they did in their previous tilt but the result was the same. It was the second straight loss for the Panthers who have been outscored 6-1 in the last two games.

Roberto Luongo who couldn't make it out of the second period last game, played the entire game this time around. Luongo allowed five goals in the home opener but only one in this game. The veteran goaltender stopped 22 of 23 tries. The eventual winning goal came during the second period on a power play.

The Panthers had 30 shots on goal but Senators goaltender Craig Anderson put a stop to all 30 of them. Jimmy Hayes led the way for Florida with four shots on goal despite playing a team low eight minutes.

Shawn Thornton, Colby Robak, Brandon Pirri were scratched for the Panthers in this game. This was the third straight game that Robak and Pirri were scratched from. Thornton who played in Boston for the last seven seasons had four shots on goal in Florida's last game. He was a healthy scratch on Monday and remains an option going forward.

Florida will try once again to pick up their first win of the year on Friday at Buffalo.
