Panthers Off To Slow Start in Preseason

The Panthers have begun their preseason with a 0-2-2 record and have three games left

The Florida Panthers are off to a 0-2-2 start in the preseason with their last two games being outright losses.

With three games remaining before the regular season begins, the Panthers have struggled to get a winning attitude going. After opening up a 3-0 lead in their on Monday at Dallas, the Panthers saw that vanish and fell to the Stars by a final of 5-4.

In the Dallas game, Roberto Luongo allowed all five goals out of 28 save attempts. After making 23 saves in the game, the Panthers pulled their goalie with under a minute left to play but a tying goal failed to take place.

The first two games of the preseason were both losses via shootout. The first of which came against those same Stars and the other in Nashville as part of a doubleheader against the Predators on Saturday.

The Panthers have nine goals in their four games but they have allowed 15 with the most lopsided game being a 4-1 loss to the Predators.

Leading Florida in goals thus far has been Brandon Pirri with two. Behind Pirri, Dave Bolland, Rocco Grimaldi, Quinton Howden, Shane O'Brien, Alex Petrovic, Colby Robak, and Scottie Upshall each have a goal for the Panthers.

The Panthers will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at home and then away on Thursday and Saturday respectively. Those pair of games will wrap up the preseason schedule. On October 9th, Florida will visit Tampa Bay again for the regular season opener.
