The Miami Heat have a chance to make the Magic City even hotter on Thursday.
At 9 p.m., the Heat will play Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The excitement around the game has also affected ticket prices at two popular ticket sales websites, StubHub and TiqIQ.
The average price paid for a Game 5 ticket on StubHub is $711, up $36 from last year’s Game 5 against the Dallas Mavericks. The site said the prices per seat ranged from $175 for standing room only to as much as $9,500 in the Dewar’s Clubhouse.
Florida buyers comprised the majority of StubHub’s ticket sales, but fans also purchased tickets from as far as Chile and Italy. StubHub said it had significant business from New York, California, New Jersey and Texas.
TiqIQ said its average ticket price for Game 5 at the AmericanAirlines Arena is $1,312.07, the highest priced NBA game of the season. It said on Wednesday it had a suite available for over $52,000 or a seat in Flagship South Row 2 for over $12,000.
