Miami Heat

Road, Sweet Road For Heat

The Heat will play six of their next seven games on the road where they are 5-3 this year

The Miami Heat have enjoyed their time on the road this season and that is where they will spend the next week.

Miami is 5-3 on the road thus far but only 4-6 at American Airlines Arena. The good news for the Heat is they will now play five in a row as well as six of seven games on the road. Coming off two straight losses, Miami is in need of a win or it will fall below .500.

The road trip begins on Friday in Milwaukee against the Bucks who enter with a 10-10 record. Last month, the Bucks topped the Heat in Miami. At the time, Dwyane Wade was out with an injury but he is now back and will be on the court for the rematch.

On Sunday, the Heat will continue on to Memphis and take on the 15-3 Grizzlies. That mark is one of the best in the NBA and this will be a very tough contest for Miami. Besides being a good team overall, Memphis is a dominant team at home.

Tuesday the Heat will start a back-to-back scenario with a game against the Suns in Phoenix. The Suns are 11-8 this year and have an electric offense. This season, Phoenix is averaging nearly ten more points per game than Miami.

The next night, the Heat will travel to Denver where they will meet up with the Nuggets. As of Friday, Denver has the same record as Miami with its 9-9 mark.

The five-game trip will conclude next Friday in Utah with what could be the easiest game of the week for the Heat. The Jazz are only 5-14 this season and enter Friday with a seven game losing streak. That skid may be over by the time Miami gets there however.

After returning home for a game on December 14the with the Chicago Bulls, the Heat will head right back on the road for a game with the Brooklyn Nets. Once that game concludes, the Heat will have seven straight games in Miami and they will hope for some better results on their home court.

Luol Deng bruised his hand in Miami's last game and will not play on Friday. It is unknown how many games he'll miss during the trip. Chris Andersen also remains out with his ankle injury.

It is likely that James Ennis will be the beneficiary of extra minutes while Deng is out. Shawne Williams could see more time than planned despite recently surrendering his starting job to Josh McRoberts.

Friday's game with the Bucks will begin at 8:30 p.m.
