Shaq Appointed Carnival Cruise Line's New ‘Chief Fun Officer'

Former Miami Heat star and NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal is joining Carnival Cruise Line's management ranks as CFO: Chief Fun Officer.

The new "role" is part of the cruise line's Choose Fun with Carnival campaign, and was announced in a video that aired on TNT's "Inside the NBA" Thursday night.

The video features Shaq and Carnival President Christine Duffy, and shows the 7-foot-1 retired basketball star sliding over tabletops and playing games of tag and duck, duck goose with employees.

"Mr O'Neal is perfect for the job. His unparalleled passion and unique business acumen are a tremendous asset," Duffy says in the video.

"In today’s world, it’s more important than ever to choose fun, especially when everyone is busy with work, family, and life in general,” O'Neal said in a release from the company. "So, I’m honored to be appointed the Chief Fun Officer at Carnival – a company that lives and breathes fun."
