The Florida agency that helps bring jobs to the state won't say which pro sports team deserves financial help from the state.
Last year, state legislators passed a measure that spelled out how professional sports franchises and facilities could get a state subsidy.
The Department of Economic Opportunity on Friday announced that four applicants had turned in the necessary paperwork.
But there isn't enough money to cover the requests to help the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, Daytona International Speedway and Orlando City Lions.
State officials maintain that under the new law, they can't evaluate or rank the current batch of applications. It will be up to state legislators to make the final decision.
The agency put out a 20-page memo on Monday that explained its legal reasoning for the decision.
