Antrel Rolle has never been shy when faced with a microphone so it shouldn't come as any surprise that he was right at home at Super Bowl Media Day.

Maybe a bit too at home, actually. Moments after Rolle said that he and his teammates took a lot of motivation from hearing Rex Ryan's big talk leading up to their crucial Week 16 win over the Jets, Rolle did an awfully good impersonation of the Jets coach who is always drunk on guarantee juice.

"We’re going to win this thing," Rolle said. "We're going to win this thing for a lot of good reasons."

Rolle continued, saying that the Giants weren't going to be denied and that they would take care of business. He stopped short of letting the world know whether or not he would be going to Disney World, but there wasn't much else about Rolle's diatribe that couldn't be described as a guarantee of victory in Super Bowl 46.

Given the fervid reaction to Tom Brady's hope that the Patriots would win the game over the weekend, you'd expect that the New York tabloids would be splashing these bold words all over their back pages. It's nowhere to be found as the News and Post continue to be cheering sections for the team while burying Rolle's brash talk deeper in the paper.

"I didn’t say we’re going to win," Rolle said later. "I said we're going to go out there and do whatever it takes to win. I didn’t guarantee anything."

It's true, he didn't guarantee anything. It's not like you'll get double your money back if the Giants lose, but let's not split too many hairs when it comes to saying that you're going to win a football game.

Rolle's "These are not the droids you're looking for" moment is the most brash thing we've heard from the Giants, but there's no doubt that there has been a steady rise in the volume of the talk coming from Big Blue over the past few weeks.

Rolle's always talking, but guys like Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora and all three wide receivers laughing at questions about the Patriots secondary are all making the Giants sound a bit more like that other team from the Meadowlands.

So much for Tom Coughlin's admonition that talk is cheap? Ah, but there's a big difference between this team and the one that wears green. 

The Giants are talking now that they've made the Super Bowl instead of at preseason games or during the week after a terrible loss. They've earned the right to strut a little bit and they've done a good job of backing up the big words they threw out before the wins over the Packers and 49ers.

Being guilty of confidence and cockiness are perfectly fine when you've made it to this point in the season because there's every reason to be confident in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. Rolle could have been more tactful, but that's what he feels so he might as well share it.

The only downside comes if you can't walk the walk after talking the talk. The Giants seem comfortable taking that risk and we'll find out soon enough if their comfort level is justified.
