Thunder Top Heat in Another Loss at Home

The Heat fell to 7-13 on the year in Miami with their loss to the Thunder on Tuesday

The Miami Heat have struggled all season long at home and that continued on Tuesday in their 94-86 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With the loss, the Heat are now 7-13 when playing at American Airlines Arena this season. The woes at home have come while Miami has produced well on the road. Playing outside of Miami, the team is 11-10 on the year.

Despite being five games under.500, the Heat remain in seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings. There is not much distance between Miami and the ninth spot however. The Charlotte Hornets are currently in that slot and are only one and a half games behind Miami.

Hassan Whiteside was given the start once again but wound up only playing in the first half. A sprained ankle sidelines Whiteside for the entire second half. The 25-year old injured the ankle towards the closing minutes of the second quarter. Before exiting, Whiteside compiled ten points, two rebounds and a block in his 11 minutes.

Chris Bosh had 16 points to go along with seven rebounds in one of his quieter games this year. Bosh also turned the ball over four times which was a department the team as a whole struggled in on Tuesday.

Making his return to the lineup, Dwyane Wade played 34 strong minutes. Wade had 18 points and six assists. The guard did not appear to have any lingering issues with his hamstring.

Miami turned the ball over 21 times and Oklahoma City made the most of those chances they were given.

The Heat will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to take on the Charlotte Hornets at 7:00 p.m.
