Tom Brady Sketch Artist Unveils New Brady Portrait

Jane Rosenberg's drawings of the New England Patriots quarterback were compared with everything from "Lurch" in "The Addams Family" to the figure in Edvard Munch's "The Scream"

The courtroom artist who some Internet critics say made New England quarterback Tom Brady look like an aging cartoon villain has gotten a wave and a "thank you" from the superstar.

Jane Rosenberg returned to Manhattan federal court Monday several weeks after her drawing at Brady's first "Deflategate" hearing became a trending topic on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks.

She says she was nearly alone in court finishing her drawing when Brady left a conference room and walked nearby with his lawyers.

She says he waved, looked her way and said "thank you." Rosenberg's not reading too much into it, saying he might just be "a polite guy who waves to everybody."

Earlier, Rosenberg unveiled a new sketch of Brady to the Daily News, and said she planned to focus more on him during the hearing.

Rosenberg's drawings of the New England Patriots quarterback were compared with everything from "Lurch" in "The Addams Family" to the figure in Edvard Munch's "The Scream."

She told necn Monday morning that she planned on concentrating on Brady during the latest hearing in Manhattan.

"I have to apologize to Tom Brady and all of his fans," she told necn.

"He's obviously a famous personality, and everyone expected me to make him more beautiful or as beautiful as he is, and when I'm under such pressure I tend to just grab onto certain lines and I don't flatter people," she said.

After her sketches were released, humorous images depicting the sketches went viral on social media. Rosenberg says some of the backlash was funny, but some of it was "just mean."
