Two Home Runs in 9th Give Marlins 3rd Straight Win

The Marlins won their third consecutive game on Tuesday with back-to-back home runs in the 9th

The Miami Marlins won their third straight game on Tuesday with a 6-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Casey McGehee hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning to give the Marlins the lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for McGehee and it was followed by Marcell Ozuna's 21st. It was the second straight day that Ozuna was involved in back-to-back home runs.

Ozuna had a three-hit game and scored two runs in addition to his two runs batted in.

The win moved Miami to only two games back of the Brewers and the Atlanta Braves in the Wild Card race. Miami trails the Pittsburgh Pirates by 3.5 games now as they fell on Tuesday to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Things looked bad for the Marlins in the bottom of the eighth when Bryan Morris loaded the bases with nobody out. Morris would work out of the jam however and keep the game tied at three.

Before Morris entered, the game was started by Tom Koehler. The right-hander had some issues with his control but still battled his way through five innings. Koehler allowed two runs on six hits and three walks.

In the ninth, Steve Cishek entered and struggled a bit but nailed down the save in the end to give him 34 on the year.

The Marlins will go for a fourth straight win on Wednesday when Jarred Cosart makes the start.
