Wade's Big Fourth Not Enough in Heat Loss

Dwyane Wade tried to lead Miami back to a win on Monday but the Heat fell short

The Miami Heat fell to the Boston Celtics 100-90 on Monday despite a productive fourth quarter from Dwyane Wade.

After entering the fourth quarter trailing by ten, things seemed bleak for Miami. Wade then took it upon himself to bring his team back into the game in a hurry. In all, the All-Star had 15 points in the fourth quarter alone. Whether it was lay-ups, free throws or a three-pointer, Wade provided Miami with as much as he could.

Ultimately, the effort from Wade proved to not be enough for Miami. Without much help from his teammates, Wade saw Boston grab their extended lead back and the game was out of reach in the final couple of minutes. Wade had 34 points in the game as a whole along with two assists and four rebounds.

Before Wade's attempted heroics, the Heat witnessed a poor moment from another member of the team. Hassan Whiteside was ejected for the second time in a week after becoming physical with Kelly Olynyk. Whiteside had not received a foul call moments before and appeared to take his frustration out on the Boston center. The foul on Olynyk was deemed a flagrant two which resulted in Whiteside's ejection.

The loss was a tough one for the Heat as they had an opportunity to move up in the standings. Due to the defeat, Miami remains in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a 28-35 record on the year.

Miami was without the services of Goran Dragic and Udonis Haslem. Luol Deng and Whiteside were game-time decisions but were able to dress for the game.

There was one extra man on the bench for the Heat albeit in a suit as Chris Bosh made his return to the bench. Bosh who will not play this year had not been with the team since he was shut down for the season.

Miami will host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
