The Miami Heat's LeBron James doesn't have a rooting interest in today's Super Bowl (his beloved Dallas Cowboys failed to even make the playoffs for the third straight season). But while the Cowboys won't be included in the big game, James himself will appear in a Samsung ad titled "The Big Pitch."
Along with James, the ad features actors Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen as themselves, with Breaking Bad's Bob Odenkirk playing an advertising executive. According to AdWeek, the spot was directed by Jon Favreau (director of the Iron Man movies).
The ad is scheduled to air during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, when the Baltimore Ravens take on the San Francisco 49ers at the Louisiana Superdome.
James has become a major part of Samsung's campaign for its Galaxy smartphone. An ad released at the beginning of the NBA season follows a day in James' life, with stops at his breakfast table, a barber shop in Miami, and the American Airlines Arena. Forbes.com estimates that James earns $40 million a year in endorsement deals alone.
If you don't want to wait until the game starts, you can watch the ad below. We don't want to spoil anything, but James will not be forming a Big Three with Rudd and Rogen anytime soon.
