Brothers Alex and Ben Burman are big Phillies fans, but this week the two boys are giving up their World Series tickets for charity. And a local school is getting $11,000 out of the deal.

"I’m just like, well, what’s more important, some kid going to school for 200 days of the year, or going to a Phillies game for two hours,” said Ben, 13.

Here's the plan the boys hatched with their family: Selling all five of their Game 4 tickets -- including three Diamond Club seats, some of the best seats in the ballpark -- on StubHub. The tickets sold Friday morning for $11,000, the Burman family said.

The family will donate the $11,000 to Drexel Numann Academy, a Catholic school in Chester. Stephen Burman, Ben and Alex's uncle, is on the school's board of directors. The family has already donated $5,000 to the school, and said they will donate the balance -- another $6,000.

Alex and Ben, both students at Strath Haven Middle School in Wallingford, Penn., are upbeat about their decision.

“It makes me feel proud and just knowing I’m doing a good deed,” said Alex, 11. Annual tuition at Dexel Numann is $2,200 per student.

Spread out over a number of families in financial need, the donation could help fund an entire class.

“This could benefit dozens of children because some of our families just need a little bit of extra help,” said Sister Maggie Gannon, the school's president. "It's beyond generous. We hear so often about Philladelphia sports fans. To me, this is what Philadelphia really is."
