Dolphins WR Wants to File For Unemployment

Dolphins players tweet their dilemmas after the lockout

While the NFL owners and players squabble over a billion dollars, leave it to the Miami Dolphins players to break things down to a nonsensical, common man level.

In a sense, football players have been laid off from their main gig, so what does anyone do when they have been given a pink slip?

File for unemployment.

That's what wide receiver Brian Hartline is pondering, according to his Twitter account.

"So can we file for unemployment? LOL" Hartline tweeted recently.

Now Hartline is not some million-dollar baller driving around in a hot car and draped in jewelry. The Ohio State product made around $600,000 last year, barely enough to feed his non-existent family.

In Florida, if Hartline's unemployment application was approved, he would make about $275 per week.

At least Hartline didn't go the slavery route like Adrian Peterson. Way to get the fans on the players' side, Brian.

But the tears from broke-crying Dolphins don't stop with Hartline.

Cornerback Vontae Davis, who made more that $1.5 million last year, has announced he is taking drastic measures to cut back his spending while the lockout mess is sorted out.

No more trips to Paris for Davis, he tweeted.

"Guess I'm flying to third world country. I gotta get everything for half price," Davis wrote.

We wonder do they sell common sense at a discount.
