An emergency call means different things to different people. Take Jose Armando Rodrigues for instance.

He felt it was an emergency that he get home from Boynton Beach to Miami, so he called the cops and claimed he had escaped from some would-be kidnappers, theSun-Sentinel reported.

Nice story, but the 32-year-old probably loses points for execution.

According to police, Rodrigues was mad that his friend's car broke down on the side of the road Monday morning and their ride was taking too long to get there. So he started walking and eventually ended up on Interstate 95 about 100 miles away from home. That's when he got the bright idea to call 911 and claimed he had been abducted.

"Two males put a hood over my head and tied a rope to my hand and threw me into a vehicle and brought me to this location," Rodriguez reportedly told Boynton Beach officers who responded to the distress call.

His story might have been believable if not for the fact that his buddy's broken down car was just up the street. Well, that and the question of why would someone kidnap Rodrigues and then leave him on the side of I-95?

Police quickly figured it out and then gave the man the ride he was looking for - to jail.
