A Florida man who authorities claim called the Hillsborough County Sheriff's non-emergency line nearly 3,000 times was convicted for making repeated harassing phone calls.
Keith Lukas, 43, pleaded no contest Tuesday and was sentenced to probation for making 2,927 calls between May 1, 2012 and December 5, 2013.
Under the terms of his probation, Lukas cannot contact the sheriff's office unless he has a legitimate need for law enforcement or medical services.
According to the sheriff's office, Lukas would call to complain that he wasn't satisfied with how he was treated by them in the past and would use vulgar language and belittle the dispatchers.
"Lukas would often call back multiple times one after another and often would just ramble or continue to be abusive," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
Jail records showed Lukas had past arrests for battery, DUI, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
