Florida Man Who Complained to Deputies About Stolen Marijuana Arrested

The search for the owner of dozens of marijuana plants found on a Florida property ended when a man went to a sheriff's office to complain that detectives had stolen the plants.

Boyd Gene Wiley, 47, was arrested Monday when he showed up at the Putnam County Sheriff's Office to complain to a supervisor, officials said.

Wiley, of Interlachen, said he was growing medical marijuana and complained that it had been removed without his permission, officials said.

The 91 marijuana plants had been discovered last week when a code enforcement officer was inspecting the property. Drug and vice unit detectives spent several hours eradicating the plants, officials said.

An investigation into who owned the property ended when Wiley showed up at the sheriff's office. He was booked into jail and later released on $1004 bond. It was unknown if he's hired and attorney.
