Florida Theft Suspect Ripped Off Other Suspect: Authorities

Trio facing charges after stealing from others, each other: Authorities

A man and two women are facing several charges after authorities spotted them driving driving around with stolen fishing rods and discovered the man had stolen jewelry from one of the women, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

According to the sheriff's office, Steven Scott, 25, Kayla Masek, 22, and Marianne Dolleman, 40, were spotted driving in a car with fishing rods sticking out shortly after deputies responded to two residential burglaries in Venice Wednesday night.

About $1,400 worth of fishing rods and reels had been stolen in the burglaries, authorities said.

Dolleman, who was driving the car, told deputies Scott and Masek had paid her to drive them around so he could try to sell the stolen items, authorities said.

In addition to the rods and reels, deputies found two drug pipes, a syringe that tested positive for opiates and a bag of tools that had been stolen in a third burglary, authorities said.

Deputies also found two bracelets Scott had stolen from Dolleman's home earlier in the night, authorities said.

Scott was charged with four counts of burglary, while Masek was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dolleman was charged with dealing in stolen property. All were arrested and booked into jail and it was unknown whether they have attorneys.

Dolleman is a "prolific offender," according to the sheriff's office, and Scott was arrested in February for failing to appear in court on grand theft charges. He was arrested again last month during "Operation Booster Buster" for stealing from a Beall's Outlet, authorities said.

Altogether, the three have a local history of 35 arrests, authorities said.
