Keys Man Invents Weed Wallet

Pot head tries to pass off brick of dope as his wallet

The Florida Keys have given us some cool stuff -- Key Lime Pie, Sloppy Joe's Bar -- but here's one you've probably never heard of: the weed wallet.

A pair of pot heads pulled over early Sunday morning on Cudjoe Key tried to pass off a big brick of marijuana as a wallet, according to police.

The incident happened around 3 a.m., when Deputy Danielle Malone saw a white Crown Victoria speeding and swerving on a highway.

Malone approached the driver's side and saw a large black garbage bag on the passenger's side of the car floor. By the time she made her way around to the passenger's side, the bag was gone, but the passenger "suddenly had a large bulge in his pants leg," according to police.

When she asked the passenger, identified as 22-year-old Anthony Williams, what was in his pants, he told her it was his wallet.

When Williams was searched, it was discovered that not only was the wallet a large brick of marijuana, Williams had a second brick. In all, the bricks weighed between six and eight pounds.

Police also found a .45 caliber handgun in the trunk as well as smaller amounts of marijuana throughout the car.

Williams and the car's driver, 26-year-old Julio Abella, were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
