Man Punches Cop He Thought Was in Halloween Costume

A group of Naperville men probably weren't planning to be jail inmates for Halloween this year.

But the holiday festivities did help lead them into trouble. According to the Chicago Tribune, 25-year-old Andres Lopez and a group of his friends were arguing with another group outside a bar near Jefferson Avenue and Washington Street early Sunday morning when police officers intervened.

Problem was, Lopez thought the cop was wearing a Halloween costume and punched him.

Three other men were also charged in the fracas and face a variety of charges, including fighting, battery and resisting a peace officer, according to the newspaper.
