Maybe we should add "depressed" to one of our mood choices (look to the right).

Miami is ranked No. 3 on the list of cities with the most depressing local news coverage, according to a social satire website called Asylum.com. We can add this trophy to the mantle, right next to the city with the strangest news title.

Along with the annual panicky hurricane season coverage that we all look so forward to (we hear they are already auctioning spots in line at Home Depot), Asylum says Miamians are most depressed about the glut of coverage over the economy and crime.

But it's not so much the news as it is the coverage and presentation of it. We agree kids being shot is the streets is pretty sad, but when a disembodied deep voice bellows, "Miami, the Streets of Blood," it kind of makes you want to throw your dinner against the wall.

Here's a snippet of the Asylum analysis:

"Economic: One Miami station has a secret weapon to terrify its viewers about the economy: alliteration. Here are some of the title graphics for the stories -- "Rough Recovery," "Foreclosure Fallout" and "Sales Scare."..."

We'll give you one guess at what station that is. We don't point fingers, but it's a number after six but before eight. Also, Rick Sanchez used to work there. Ok, that's two hints.
