Counter Intelligence: Cops Fired for Racy Waitress Gun Shoot

  • Texas cop was fired and three others suspended after photos surfaced of a waitress holding a rifle posing provocatively on the hood of a patrol car. The impromptu photo shoot took place outside Twin Peaks restaurant, an eatery that boasts "fun, friendly and sometimes flirty atmosphere." The cops involved confessed they had about three to five beers apiece. 
     
  • Entertainment Weekly will feature a wafer-thin video screen with a mini-speaker that will allow readers to watch an advertisement in the pages of the magazine. CBS is bankrolling the ads which will play on 2-by-1-1/2 inch screens and promo shows like "The Big Bang Theory" and "Two And a Half Men." 
     
  • The number of workplace suicides skyrocketed 28 percent last year and experts say it's likely a byproduct of "survivor's guilt." The anxiety that accompanies watching coworkers get laid off can be enough to push some over the edge, experts said. Despite the grim suicide rate, the overall total number of employees who died at work fell.
     
  • Swine flu has officially spread to birds. The jump from people to birds could spark new fears about a far-reaching global pandemic. In Chile, illness was suspected among birds whose egg production has dropped off significantly. It was later discovered that the birds had the same strain of the virus making its rounds around the globe in human, pigs and birds.
