A carrier pigeon proved faster than the leading internet service provider in South Africa. The 11-month-old bird took 1 hour, 8 minutes to fly 50 miles from an IT company's offices to a coastal town with a card of data attached to its leg. That same transfer of data took 2 hours, 6 minutes and 57 seconds over the internet connecting.
A reality TV set-up turned into a real-life nightmare when nine Turkish women who thought they were part of the show "Big Brother" realized they had been duped and were forced into porn shoots. The 16-to-24-year olds were locked in a resort villa and forced by their captors to take naked pictures that were then sold online. Some of the women were locked in the house and filmed all day and night for two months.
Even the most loyal NFL fans are opting out of tickets this year. At least 24 of teams in the most powerful sports league in America have kept ticket prices flat. But only 20 have sold out all of their home games. Rules of the league state that if the game isn't sold out at least 72 hours before the game, the game doesn't have to be televised, which means there could be widespread blackouts.
A new report claims health groups and cell phone companies are playing down links between phone usage and brain cancer. The findings showed that cell phone use significantly increases the risk of developing certain kids of tumors and young people, whose brains are not yet developed, are even more susceptible.
