In an effort to find a robber who dropped his cell phone during a struggle with the victim, authorities on Monday released photos of the suspect found on the phone.

On May, 30, the victim was walking eastbound along the 2500 block of NW 8th Street in Broward County around 8 p.m., the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

The robber approached the victim from behind, put him in chokehold, holding to his neck what he thought was a box cutter, the sheriff's office said.

The robber demanded money,began to run away, but the man chased him and fought with him, authorities said. The suspect cut himself in the struggle, the sheriff's office said.

The victim thought the robber was injured and back away, that's when the suspect fled , leaving his cell phone at the scene, authorities said

Anyone with information should contact the sheriff's office at 954-321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers.

Up to $1,000 is available for a reward for information leading to an arrest.
