Teen Charged at Deputies With Scissors: Report

The teen was taken to a hospital for mental evaluation.

A Fort Myers teen was arrested after allegedly charging at deputies with scissors last Sunday, reported NBC affiliate WBBH.

Authorities responded to the scene at 2 a.m. after the victim reported hearing a banging noise that sounded like someone was breaking into his home on the 14000 block of Crooked Pond Court, according to WBBH.

When deputies arrived, they heard yelling and screaming coming from the home and forced their way in, WBBH reported. Inside, they opened the door of the bedroom where the noise was coming from and found 19-year-old Damian Matthew Pierce facing the wall, according to WBBH.

Pierce immediately turned around and ran at deputies with a pair of scissors in his hand saying, "I win, I am stronger than you," according to WBBH.

Deputies shot the suspect with a stun gun, which briefly stopped him, but he violently resisted arrest and at one point bit a deputy's finger, WBBH reported.

When deputies finally detained Pierce, he was taken to Health Park Hospital for evaluation.

Investigators later found holes punched in the wall of the bedroom where Pierce was hiding and a backpack outside which contained THC and crystal meth, WBBH said.

Pierce faces charges of occupied burglary, burglary with battery, felony vandalism, aggravated assault, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence, WBBH reported.
