Two Suspects in “Liquor Up Skirts” Capers Identified

Rose Coney and Verlantis Finnie are wanted for questioning

We are pretty sure the question, "Just how did you fit that long bottle up your skirt?" won't be the first question police ask Rose Coney, but one has to wonder, right?

Coney, 48, and 26-year-old Verlantis Finnie, are wanted for questioning in two odd liquor store robberies involving women stuffing their underwear with expensive bottles of alcohol.

Last weekend, four women were caught on surveillance in some compromising positions as they stole from DPF Liquors and then 23-Hour Liquors in Hallandale Beach. Police say the women got away with about $4,000 worth of booze tucked up their skirts.

Police believe Finnie is the man used as the decoy to distract store employees as the women help themselves to the 5-pound liquor bottles.

By the time they were done, the women's panties were more expensive than anything you'd find at Victoria's Secret. Police said they stole bottles of Hennessey, Remy, Johnny Walker, Ace of Spades and Louis XIII.

After stuffing their panties, the women just walk out of the store as if nothing happened.

"I don't know how she was walking," said DPF owner, David Rassi. "Obviously they do it. They're professionals. We were three guys. We feel pretty dumb, I guess."

Anyone with information on this case or the whereabouts of Coney and Finnie is asked to contact BSO Det. Gregory Murphy at (954) 985-1953 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS(8477).
