Donna Rapado joined NBC Miami in November 2010.
Donna is an award-winning, bilingual journalist who has worked as a reporter and anchor in cities as far north as Rapid City, South Dakota, to as far south as Corpus Christi and Austin, Texas.
A Miami native, she moved back to South Florida a few years ago, working as a reporter at Univision and as a Miami-based correspondent for ABC News.
Donna started her TV news career in 1996 while earning her Bachelor’s in History at Florida State University.
She loves to write and tell stories, passionate about any story she reports. Her goal each day is to give viewers 110 percent.
In her free time Donna enjoys the outdoors, staying active, reading, laughing and spending time with family, friends and her dog Sandy, a shelter rescue.
As a childhood cancer survivor Donna also tries to help others in the fight for their lives. Diagnosed at age 7, doctors told her parents she would likely not survive past age 10. So now, she especially likes to show other parents living through the unimaginable that there is hope.
Donna has long considered NBC Miami the gold standard for news in the area, proud to finally call it her "home away from home".
