NBC Meteorologist John Gerard visited Witon Manors Elementary School on Wednesday. NBC 6 Meteorologist John Gerard visited Wilton Manors Elementary School on Wednesday. NBC 6 Meteorologist John Gerard spoke to 150 4th graders at Wilton Manors Elementary School. At Career Day, John told the students to stay in school, stay off drugs, and study hard. The students learned that weather is only a small part of the newscast, but an important part. The students learned that there is a lot of time spent in preparation and making graphics to help tell the story. The students learned that you don't have to be on TV to be a meteorologist. But, if you are on TV, you have to be a good communicator. John Gerard spoke at career day at Wilton Manors Elementary School. John spoke to over 150 4th graders about being a meteorologist.
