Stephanie Bertini is an award-winning journalist with a decade of experience in television. From crime to human interest stories, Stephanie has covered a wide range of news events in her career. She also has extensive experience anchoring and hosting.
Stephanie joined South Florida’s NBC 6 News team in May 2015, after reporting for ABC affiliate WFTV in Central Florida. Before moving to the Sunshine State, Stephanie spent more than three years in Texas at the U.S. – Mexico border where she anchored, produced and reported for ABC affiliate KRGV-TV. She started her career north of the border, working for Canadian television station CTV News Northern Ontario as a reporter, anchor, producer and weather host. Before news, while she was still in school, Stephanie got her on-air start as a segment host for a lifestyle show on Canadian community channel Rogers TV York Region.
Born, raised and educated in Toronto, Stephanie completed a degree in History and Broadcast Journalism through a joint program between York University and Seneca College. Her industry honors include the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award, two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards, a Lone Star Emmy nomination, and several awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Association.
Stephanie speaks several languages, including Spanish and Italian. Her love for travel and her interest in different cultures have brought her to different areas of the world including, Australia, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. Growing up in an Italian family has given her a strong appreciation for good food, good jokes and vibrant conversations. Off camera, you will likely catch Stephanie at a beach, trying a new restaurant, reading or getting a workout in. On television, you can catch her delivering your traffic updates during the NBC 6 News at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., and reporting for NBC 6 News at 11 p.m.
