A suspect is in custody after 28 people were injured Saturday when a vehicle plowed into a crowd watching the Krewe of Endymion parade in the Mid-City section of New Orleans, police said. Police Chief Michael Harrison said the suspect is being investigated for driving while intoxicated. Harrison was asked twice by the media if terrorism was suspected. While he didn't say "No" he did say it looks like a case of DWI.

Actor Bill Paxton died Saturday due to complications from surgery, a representative of his family told NBC News in a statement. He was 61. Paxton was known for his roles in Hollywood blockbusters like "Twister," "Apollo 13," and "Aliens." His most recent role was on the small screen, in the CBS series "Training Day." In a statement to TMZ, which broke the news of Paxton's death, his family said: “It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery.”
