Ardyth "Ardy" Diercks was named President and General Manager of NBC 6/WTVJ in July 2003.
From 2001-2003, Diercks served as President and General Manager of W*USA-TV in Washington, D.C. In addition, she was a Senior Vice President of Gannett Television, was responsible for 11 of their television stations and served on the Gannett Broadcasting Operating Committee. From January 1996 to March 1998, Diercks was President and General Manager of KSDK-TV, Gannett’s NBC affiliate in St. Louis. Prior to that she was President and General Manager of KVUE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Austin, Texas, from October 1994. She joined KVUE in September of 1992 as Vice President/General Manager. Before arriving in Austin, Diercks was Vice President/Programming and Station Relations at KPNX-TV, Gannett’s NBC affiliate in Phoenix. She served as General Executive at Gannett Broadcasting corporate headquarters from 1987-1988 in Arlington, Virginia. Diercks began her career with Gannett at K*USA-TV in Denver in 1983.
Diercks recently served on the National Association of Broadcasters Board of Directors. Active in community service in her home markets, Diercks has served on the board of directors of the United Way, the Urban League and Chamber of Commerce. Diercks currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Dubuque and is on the board of the “Amigos for Kids” organization in Miami, FL. Diercks is the recipient of the 2008 March of Dimes Honoree Award for commitment to making a difference in the community.
Diercks is a graduate of the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Diercks received The Alumni of Distinction award in 1997 from her Alma Mater.
She and her husband Al live in Broward County, Florida. They have two children.
