Forever Family is a creative public-private partnership that combines child advocacy groups, local media and foster care programs for the important task of finding children in foster care loving, adoptive homes.

Since it’s inception, NBC 6 Forever Family has raised public awareness through in-depth stories and on-air promotions, which, in turn have led to an increase in adoptions, guardians ad litem, foster families and volunteers.

Forever Family grew out of a grassroots movement lead by Emmy award-winning producer Gia Tutalo-Mote and staff and management at NBC 6.

NBC 6 Forever Family is underwritten by The Children’s Services Council of Broward County and Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler. Pro bono airtime and facilities are provided by NBC 6.

Our radio partners include: Majic 102.7 FM and 89.7 Spirit FM; Forever Family specials have also aired on Lite 101.5 FM, 97.3 FM the Coast and WAXY 790 AM.

NBC 6 Forever Family stories are also seen on Island Television in the Jamaican and Creole newscasts.

How you can help –

Adopt A Child, Become A Foster Parent, Volunteer

Each year in the State of Florida, nearly10,000 children are placed into foster care. Many of them, for various reasons, are permanently separated from their biological families. Since Forever Family debuted on May 31st 2002, hundreds of children have been helped or placed in permanent, loving homes. More than 30 children once deemed “unadoptable” because of age, medical challenges of minority status have found Forever Families.

Provide Funding

Forever Family is now a 501©3 non-profit organization. Our viewers have helped raise nearly $200,000 in cash, goods and services to help teens leaving foster care set up their first apartments, to help renovate homes or provide handicap accessible vans so medically needy children can be adopted. Viewers have also earmarked donations for once-in-a-life-time trips for foster teens that excel academically. One such student was invited by the United States Congress to take part in the Global Young Scholars program – his participation would not have possible if it weren’t for the generosity of Forever Family viewers.
