Pam Giganti is an Emmy Award winning journalist who calls herself one of the luckiest anchorwomen in all of local television.  Not only is she able to work in a field she loves, but does so every morning with legendary anchor and reporter, Bob Mayer.  Under chemistry in the dictionary, there is a picture of Bob and Pam, who affectionately like to refer to themselves as “Bam” in the morning.

Pam has been anchoring the number one morning show, Today in South Florida at NBC6 since June 2001.  During her career, Pam has won an Emmy for her work on the health special, “Breast Cancer: Interactive”, and has been recognized with an NBC Ovation award for Outstanding Teamwork and a Certificate of Excellence.

Pam is a veteran newswoman who has covered presidents and leaders, soldiers at wartime and countless hours of hurricane coverage. But perhaps one of Pam’s most memorable and unusual broadcasts was the time she jumped out an airplane and broadcast live for a radio show.

After graduating with honors from the University of West Florida’s professionally accredited journalism program, Pam worked in radio in Pensacola, Florida and in San Diego, California. She later began her television career at WSVN in South Florida.

Pam has always believed that to whom much is given, much is expected and lends her time to several charitable organizations.

Pam is an Advisory Board member of the anti-drug organization and statewide Red Ribbon campaign sponsors, Informed Families.  She is also a mentor for Women of Tomorrow, an outreach program for at-risk high school girls.  Each year, she and her co-anchor Bob Mayer emcee the Children’s Bereavement Center gala.  They have also participated together in career day events at local schools and the International Book Fair.  Pam has participated in Autism Speaks events, emceeing both a fundraiser and luncheon.  She also  participated in a “Reading is Hot” event at the American Airlines Arena for Miami-Dade public school students and read a book to 11,000 kids!

Speaking of kids, Pam is a mother of 3 daughters, who keep her and her husband, Alfred very busy with homework, after school activities, and sports.  In her spare time, Pam likes to read, exercise, and travel.
