SWIM WEEK TAKES A DIVE: Tibi, True Religion, Red Carter, Poko Pano, Mara Hoffman and V Del Sol were just some of the designers who made a splash at the Raleigh for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim. While the models and suits were equally hot, the celeb turnout was something the show’s producers might want to throw a cover-up on.

While in the past the show has drawn in celeb power like Jessica Simpson, Gabrielle Union, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Marisa Miller, this year the pickings, like them model, were slim. Former model, author, jewelry designer and star of Real Housewives of New York City’s Kelly Bensimon showed face at the opening night soiree.

Throughout the week she was joined by Entourage’s Perrey Reeves (who wore jeans despite the hellish temperatures), The City’s Olivia Palermo and E!’s Catt Sadler. Model and newish Andy Roddick bride Brooklyn Decker sported a suit or two, while Dancing with the Stars mover and Sex and the City nudie Gilles Marini gave some testosterone to the celeb set. Like we said, the selection was skimpy. Thankfully, so were the suits, providing lots of eye candy in lieu of celebs.

IN AND OUT BURGER: Giving South Florida a much-needed A-list boost, John Travolta made a pit stop in Miami Beach this past Tuesday. But his stay was a covert operation that only lasted long enough for the star to gobble down a burger and fries and then jet out of the city just as the indigestion set in. Travolta, who recently lost his son, dressed in a black hat and shirt and dined alone. The actor hasn’t been in the public eye much due to his loss. And guessing from his quick and quiet trip, we assume he wants to keep it that way for a while.

We, on the other hand, were left hungry for famous faces and celeb scandals right here on our beaches. Unlike Travolta, we won’t leave until we get our fill.
