Yelp! will be pairing up with 12 local restaurants to bring you Yelp Eats! Restaurant Week, beginning July 20.
Here in Miami, everything seems to be about the best -- the hottest nightlife, the seemingly perfect sculptured beach bods and, of course, the delectable cuisine.
Of the latter, Yelp, a well-known site that reviews all things important in the Miami area, is making things a little easier for us wine-and-dine types with Yelp Eats! Restaurant Week.
"Yelp is about connecting locals with great local businesses. We thought Yelp Eats! would be a good way for people to get the opportunity to try some of Yelp's highly rated restaurants at lower than normal price points," said Maria Argüello of Yelp.
With 3-course prix-fixe menus of only $25, various restaurants -- both local treasures and well-known eateries -- are plunging into the deep end (or shallow end, if we're talking about prices) to give us economically-challenged foodies a reviving lap of luxury.
"We have twelve restaurants participating in Yelp Eats!, meaning that people don't have to sacrifice on quality or their social life as they look to stretch that dollar," said Argüello.
Yelp Eats! Restaurant Week starts on July 20th and lasts until July 26th. Participating restaurants include 660 at the Angler's, Alta Mar, Au Pied de Cochon, Café Sambal, Casa Toscana, Escopazzo, Graziano's Brickell, Jaguar, La Cofradia, Pacific Time, Red Koi and Red, The Steakhouse.
Hernan Stutzer, General Manager at Graziano's, a contemporary Argentinean cuisine restaurant, said the restaurant decided to participate in Yelp Eats! because of Yelp's reputable following and because "people get to try different styles of cuisine. By having different choices, people are willing to try different types of food, different flavors. We want to be part of that."
The feeling is mutual for Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli of 660 at the Angler's, a Mediterranean-infused eatery, who said, "This is an opportunity for us to showcase our best, and that is what we are going to do!"
La Cofradia, which offers a fusion of Mediterranean and Peruvian flavored cuisine, will cater their prix-fixe menu to a variety of palettes, with hints of seafood, fettuccini and sorbets, just to name a few. Chef Jean Paul Desmaison believes Yelp Eats! will help get the restaurant out there, and enjoys the fact that there aren't too many restaurants being featured throughout Yelp Eats! Restaurant Week. Just like Miami's dining scene, Yelp Eats! is intimate, and as Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli of 660 said of Miami's dining scene, "the word sultry comes to mind."
