10/1: The Sounds of Thursday

Hear The Sounds, see fashion, and dine for charity

THE SOUNDS OF MUSIC: Ever feel like just rockin' out? Well, you can at Rokbar, where The Sounds will be taking over along with resident DJ Discotech, and for good reason. They will be extending their stay from Wednesday night's performance at Revolution Live. The club is owned by the famous Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, so you know you can rock out with your you-know-what out. 12 A.M.

GLOSS ON MY LIPS: Beyonce couldn't have said it better. W Fort Lauderdale, in partnership with Glam-a-thon, will be hosting Lipstick Lounge, a night of food, facials, fashion, and fun. Stephen Starr's Steak954 will provide yummy appetizers, complimentary cosmetic samples and confections by South Florida's We Take The Cake, and renowned Bliss Spa at the W Fort Lauderdale will offer guests mini massages and facials. All of this is going on while enjoying The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale's Trashion Diva Fashion Show featuring innovative styles fashioned from reworked and recycled materials. Tickets available for $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For more information visit their website. 7-9 P.M.

SACRE BLEAU MADEMOISELLE: In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Fontainebleau is launching their month-long event, "Bleau goes Pink." From now until October 30, Fontainebleau is teaming up with the Miami chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation to bring you $39 prix fixe 3-course dinner menus at their signature restaurants, while the proceeds of the benefit support the fight against breast cancer. As a bonus, all diners who enjoy the special menus will be given an appreciation card at the end of the meal to redeem at Solo patisserie for a complimentary sweet pink confection and a chance to win Solo's special display of pink sweets and treats. We'll dine to that. 7 P.M.
