1/13: Surf's Up, Thursday

MOCA party at the Catalina, hockey at BankAtlantic and happy hour at Gigi

SURF'S UP: If you like art and you like to party, then get ready to "hang 10" tonight on the rooftop of the Catalina Hotel. It's the Museum of Contemporary Art's annual cocktail and dance fundraiser. The theme this year? It's going to be a "way cool awesome far-out kick-off party" as it's been dubbed. The MOCA BASH will provide plenty of music, cocktails, and hors d'oeurves tonight. 8 P.M.

TIME TO GET CATTY: While our Miami Heat has been racking up the W's on the road and here at home, it's a different story for the Florida Panthers. Unfortunately, it seems like they're not grooving enough on the ice to make it to the Stanley Cup finals, but that doesn't mean we can't watch them kick major puck. Head to the Bank Atlantic Center tonight to support the Panthers as they take on the Carolina Hurricanes at 7:30 P.M.

HAPPY HOUR WITH GIGI: After a long day at work, unwind with your favorite French gal, Gigi. Ok, so there's nothing French about Gigi, it's just a great spot with delicious food prepared by Chef Jeff McInnes, and to make everything taste that much better, there are two-for-one's tonight for happy hour. Did we mention it's the only place where delectable art is served starting at just $2? We recommend starting with the Meat Loaf and the Buns... amazing!
