12/7: Stella!

Get short and funny, full and happy, or relaxed and buttery

MATES OF STATE: Seems like every time you fall in love with a show, some bigwig in a studio corner office decides to cancel it and replace it with something about a fat guy and his disproportionately hot wife. "The State" may have gone to the irreverant cable comedy graveyard, but get a taste of Michael Ian Black, Michael Showwalter, and David Wain tonight when Sweat Records screens the trios short films, called the Stella Shorts, which also offer up cameos by funny people such as Paul Rudd, Janeane Garafallo and Bradley Cooper. 8 P.M.

USE YOUR NOODLE: NYC Italian import Scarpetta, helmed by chef Scott Conant, is celebrating their one-year anniversary -- that's like a decade in restaurant years, at least in Miami -- with a special menu all week. Through Thursday, you can get a four-course dinner for 50 bucks. That includes some of our personal favorites -- the creamy polenta with truffled mushrooms and the 'petta's infamous spaghetti with tomato and basil. We know, it sounds so simple. But somehow Conant has made mom's classic dish that much more awesome.

BLISS INTERPRETATION: The holidays are in full swing, which means between visions of Aunt Linda's TMI about all her maladies and drunk uncle Gary, you're ready to bludgen yourself with a fruit cake. Step away from the baked goods and make an appointment at the W Fort Lauderdale's Bliss Spa, where, until December 10th, you'll score 20 perecent off all treatments, including the blissage 75, a massage that starts off with a warm wax foot wrap, and the hot milk and almond pedicure. After an hour (or four) here, you won't even need to hit the spiked egg nog.
