2/17: Who Needs Sun?

The sun is so last year

FAKE BAKE: With our weather in the 60s, Mother Nature is making it hard for us to keep up our island glow. The next best thing to a day on the beach is 30 minutes in a bed, right? Boca Tanning Club's newest location on Brickell hosts its grand opening party tonight and it won't be your mama's cocktail hour. There will be Cirque du Soleil-style entertainment, body painted models, men on stilts and boa constrictors. Grammy award winning singer Jon Secada will be in attendance along with tons of local Miami socialites. You can also tan while doing good this week, because a percentage of sales from today till Sunday will benefit the American Red Cross Haiti Relief. Lying on a beach never did any good, did it? 6:30 p.m.

HUMP DAY DELIGHT: Let's be honest, the only good thing about Wednesdays is that there are only two more days till the weekend. Purdy Lounge is looking to change that. The South Beach hot spot, known for its hassle free doormen and no cover, throws its (786) party, which will hopefully turn Wednesday into your new favorite day. The night will include cheap booze, all the dance music your heart can desire, and live acts like tonight's Million Young, who have been blowing up on the blogs like a celebrity sex tape. Good music and better people. Sounds like the (786) is the new (305). 10 p.m.

ROCK OUT: Do you get told that playing so many video games will rot your brain? We can't guarantee that it won't, but it will get you a $50 bar tab. Every Wednesday bring your friends and rock out in the 8 oz. Burger Bar Lounge, where they are bringing a love for video games to a new level. There will be a full setup and complete music catalogs for guests to crank it up and show their Rock Band skills in a very stiff competition. The winning band will receive a $50 bar tab for their next visit. Burgers and bands always make the perfect Wednesday evening. 10 p.m.
