3/7: And The Winner Is…

The peak of award season is finally here!

THE OSCAR® GOES TO: Our favorite part of awards season is here! The best of couture, A-list talent, and pretty gold statues all collide tonight, but to watch all this glamour and glitz from the comfort of our own homes in PJs just doesn't seem appropriate. To shake up a things up a bit this year, celebrate with Miami Beach Cinematheques as they host our city's Official Oscar Night® America party tonight at Smith and Wollensky. For the eighth year in a row, this VIP event and fundraiser is the only soiree in Miami sanctioned and approved by the Academy Of Motion Picture Art and Sciences. Tickets are a little pricey at $150, but the event will help fund MBC's upcoming move to City Hall this summer. Not only that, there'll be a red carpet, silent auctions, and a Smith and Wollensky three-course dinner, and the whole night is hosted by Miami's famous Elaine Lancaster. Creative black tie is optional, but with a night hosted by a drag queen, be sure to look fierce. 6 PM.

SO SWIFT: So, unless you have cut your cable or have no friends, you know the name Taylor Swift very well. She's not only constantly on every radio station, but that whole Kanye West thing didn't hurt her career, either. To give her a little credit, she really is amazing -- a musician, performer, songwriter, and barely 20 years old. The gorgeous blond really is a step above the rest and if you have kids, we can imagine they have made you very aware of that. Miss Swift has sold millions of records and you can catch her tonight at the BankAtlantic Center. With her tween fans definitely coming out, be sure to pack the ear plugs. 7 PM.

FEEL GOOD MUSIC: On this Sunday evening, many of us will be glued to our TVs to see who brings home the gold. If that scenario bores you to tears, we can't imagine you're alone. If some feel-good music sounds like the perfect way to end your weekend, we found the event for you. Tonight The Talent Farm is hosting a Humility Now Benefit Show that will warm your heart and your ears. With all proceeds going to charities to benefit the homeless of Miami, come check out some of the best local sounds. With bands you've more than likely never heard of playing all night long, like And Then There Was You and Flower Flower, it'll be the perfect evening to shake your groove thing. 6 PM.
