Highlighting the list of events are a couple of celebrity all-star competitions that are sure to get the football juices flowing or at least the alcohol.
Super Bowl XLIV is on Feb. 7 and will pit the Miami Dolphins against an NFC foe. OK, that's wishful thinking, but the game we are really excited about is on Saturday, Feb. 6.
That's when the trendy sands of Miami Beach will double as a gridiron battleground during the DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl.
Over 30 celebrities and professional athletes will face off in flag football combat in front of a bikini-clad Miamians and TV cameras. The contest will be broadcast on the Internet and on two networks, so make sure you’re oiled up properly for your camera cameo.
Before you get all sandy, the NFL wants you to get artsy with Super Art in the Park on Jan. 29. The event will be held in downtown Coral Gables at Ponce Circle Park and is free to the public (can’t beat that price).
Visitors can listen to live music while shopping for beautiful art or getting autographs from sports celebrities. You can also purchase sports memorabilia, and there are Super Bowl-themed activities for the kids.
But if you collected all the artwork you needed at Art Basel, then there is another Super Bowl event that night that might tickle your fancy.
You don’t need to be a boxing fan to enjoy seeing your favorite celebrities pummeled by former NFL greats at the Celebrity Pros versus Joes Boxing event.
Invited guests include NFL Hall of Famers Dwight Stephenson, Michael Irvin, Eric Dickerson, Lawrence Taylor, Dan Marino, Don Shula, Emmitt Smith, Bob Griese, Jim Kiick, Manny Fernandez and Larry Little, along with future Hall of Famer Cris Carter.
No word on who the sacrificial lambs, er, celebs will be, but we’re hoping for a Kardashian sighting. The boxing matches will be at Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa on Hollywood Beach.
