Pow It Out

Churchill's goes native tonight for their first annual Pow Wow

There may not be a campfire or teepees or feathered headresses, but there's bound to be some drum beating tonight at Churchill’s, where a group of Miamians are holding their own with the first annual Pow Wow.

The Jacuzzi Boys will be performing their own garage rock sound alongside the Electric Bunnies, Feathers and Poetry Vs. Glen Rice, which will be actual poetry, though not in the traditional sense. After many 7-inch record releases, this is the celebration of the Jacuzzi Boys’ first full length album.

If you’ve been going out at all in Miami over the last three years, you’ve probably heard these three perform and probably even enjoyed some songs. They’ve definitely grown musically, and as an ensemble into a band whose album is worth a 10-spot.

A special, probably sick performance by Fun! with Justin Long and Meatball will be taking place on the patio. Expect strangeness and possibly some Spanish covers of Miami favorites. Adam G from Needless Records, one of the labels that releases records for the Jacuzzi Boys, will be spinning lots of Brian Eno and contemporary rock gems.

It’ll be 5 bucks to get in to Churchill's Pub. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes.
