Americans are celebrating the achievements of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr. The clergyman, whose non-violent protests and eloquent speeches for social justice transformed the nation, was born on Jan. 15, 1929 and his birthday is always celebrated on the third Monday of the month.
