The Beauty Beat: 9/25-10/1

This week lash out, fight frizz and go global.

It’s fall in Miami (believe it or not) and though we won’t feel a chill in the air for months, we can still cash in on seasonal trends with these offerings from Givenchy, Salon Vaso and Ayama Yoga.

BEAUTY: You and your mascara wand have a love/hate relationship. You just want long, lush lashes. It gives you clumps and lumps. Thanks to Givenchy, you can ditch that tired old wand and opt for one a bit more magical. Demesure Audacious Lashes’ wand has 16 grooves that hold the formula while you swipe it on by rolling over the grooves. Then, a retractable brush lets you brush through lashes for a clump-free wink and forever changes the way you put on mascara. It Launches Fall/Winter 2011, so be on the lookout soon. GET IT: Sephora South Beach, 721 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach; 305.532.0904.

SPA: While girls up north are rocking frizz-free locks, we’re stuck here with humidity wreaking havoc on our hair. Fake fall’s cooler temp with Salon Vaso’s Frizz Fighter package. For $100, the package is available Tuesday through Friday through the end of September and includes an Express Keratin Blowout and a Salon Vaso signature manicure. Then, keep up the façade of a frizz-free Miami with Salon Vaso’s famous $25 blowouts Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. GET IT: 1500 Alton Road, Second floor, Miami Beach; 305.674.7470.

GYM: We know you know it’s National Yoga Month (because we’ve been telling you all month). If you still haven’t given yoga a go this September, there’s no better time than National Yoga Month Goes Global day. On Friday, September 30 at 7 p.m., gather together with like-minded yogis for a global celebration of enlightenment. Ayama Yoga joins studios and teachers across the planet, all at 7 p.m., for a global practice. The class, hosted by yogamonth.com, is free, lasts one hour and marks the first-ever Time for Yoga Global Community Practice. After class, at 8:15, stay for a 15-minute meditation for peace and well-being. It’s an om heard ‘round the world, and Ganesha knows we need a little of that right now. GET IT: Ayama Yoga Center, 2624 N.E. 188th St., North Miami Beach; 305.932.7755.
