Celebrity Chef Rachael Ray pumped up the crowd of kids and parents at Jungle Island's "Fun and Fit as a Family Day."
She started the hour-long cooking demonstration by making turkey tacos with lean ground meat.
"That's a great rule as a family, if you all like to cook together to try and add as much color as you can to every meal and then you know you're getting great nutrition," said Ray.
A lucky audience member joined the bubbly talk show host on stage to cook healthy versions of comfort food, like mac and cheese.
The two-day festival event promotes a healthy lifestyle. Even those so-called bad foods can be good for you.
Barilla served up whole wheat pasta tossed in olive oil. Domino's rolled out a 70-calorie pizza slice.
Kids got active by taking on obstacle courses, enjoyed arts and crafts and got to know the animals on Jungle Island.
Parents hoped just a sample of healthy foods from a dozen vendors would help kids pick up good eating habits.
Ray even dished out career advice to a 13-year-old fan.
"You will always be employed because people need to eat," she said.
