What Does Mimo Taste Like Anyway?

The Upper East Side is known for its modern architecture. Now it has its own flavor

Hungry? Live near Biscayne? Totally broke? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you might want to spend the day over at Taste of Mimo.

For the past two months, Miami’s Mimo District has been dishing up cheap eats and offering tours of the historical area. Today, they’re at it again.

Eleven restaurants, ranging from Casa Toscana (Italian) to Red Light (American) and Moshi Moshi (sushi), offer up samples for up to $5. We hear the Mexican at Ver Daddy’s Taco Shop is noteworthy. And for $5, it’s better than a handful of hamburgers from Mickey Ds.

Grab the fam, a group of friends, or your dog and head over to Biscayne Boulevard between 69th and 79th Streets from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hey, if you stay there long enough you can have early lunch and early dinner for probably less than $20.

And, if you pay attention, you may just learn something on that walking tour. Then you can tell your friends you spend the day on the Upper East Side.

Just casually leave out the Biscayne Boulevard part.
