Traveling Trunkshow

Denizens get designer discount duds

Recessionistas, get those credit cards ready!

Tonight is one evening to save and score on designer wear up to 60 percent off.

Miami’s first ever traveling trunkshow, Trunk Threads, kicks off at 55th Street Station’s Style Lab Shoppe on the Upper East Side.

The event, which takes place from 6 p.m. till 10 p.m. is featuring 10 different local designers and their new collections.

“We are showcasing designer lines ranging from ethnic-inspired jewelry by Suzanne Dunn, oversized eco and leather clutches and handbags by Nazly Villamizar, Unisex screen printed T Shirts by Gold Saturn, chic children's wear by Fournier, Victorian inspired necklaces and fascinators by Rella and more,” said co-founder Michelle Leshem

Leshem who heads the marketing firm Supermarket Creative teamed up with friend Beau Beasley to launch the monthly event.

She said she came up with the idea after seeing a big need to promote local designers and offer denizens a stylish pocketbook-friendly shopping event.

“There are many great designers out there yet we only see them when there are yearly big events,” said Leshem. “So I thought it would be great if I can use my resources to create a monthly platform. I want to see Miami's fashion landscape grow and I think Trunk Threads can fill that void."

Aside from the deals, participants can expect to nosh on couture cupcakes and cocktails.

Music will be provided by Ray Milian and Heather Holiday.

Guests should RSVP to rsvp@iheartsupermarket.com

Don’t fret your fashionista head if you can’t make it tonight. Trunk Threads' next event will be October 16 at The Awarehouse, so mark your calendar.
