Heat Advisory Issued in Miami-Dade County Until 6 PM

A heat advisory was issued Tuesday for parts of Miami-Dade County, as the heat index was expected to go as high as 110.

The heat advisory was in effect until 6 p.m. and includes the cities of Homestead, Miami, Hialeah, Kendall, and Miami Beach, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures were expected to stay in the lower to mid 90s.

NWS officials are advising residents to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, try to limit outdoor activities and try to stay out of the sun.
